Stephen “Steve” DeWayne Powers, 65, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Northside Hospital Cherokee in Canton, GA.
Steve was born on August 21, 1960, in Louisville, KY, to the late Patrick DeWayne Powers and Caroline Rose Long-Reader.
In recent years, Steve particularly loved restoring his 1970 Dodge Challenger and was very proud of his home garden.
Along with his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Alan Powers. Before Mark’s passing, he and Steve could often be found together enjoying fine cigars.
He is survived by his son, Matthew DeWayne Powers, and his daughter, Rachel Jean Powers, both of Cedar Bluff, VA.
Funeral services will be conducted privately.
