Steven Vidrine, 58, of Canton, Georgia joined his Lord and Savior on May 17, 2026 following a heroically furious fight against the formidable foe that is pancreatic cancer.
Born in Columbus, Georgia the son of Marvin and Erna Vidrine. He was preceded in death by his father Marvin as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Steve, a 1986 graduate of Kendrick High School, served 6 years in the service of his country in the Air Force. He also coached hundreds of Cherokee County youth through many seasons of recreation baseball and football. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed all day Saturday SEC football and attended as many Braves, Columbus Cottonmouth's, and Thrasher's games as physically possible.
Steve, a loving and supportive father, husband, and son will be lovingly remembered by his wife Stephanie, his children Rhianna, Joshua, and Matthew, his mother Erna, his brother Klaus and wife Carla, his nieces Laura, Sian and their sons, extended family, as well as the friends he made wherever he traveled. Steve's family would like to thank Dr. Kirkel and his staff, as well as Wellstar Hospice for their support and giving our family as much time as possible to spend with him. Also, we would like to thank Klaus, Carla, all of our family's friends, the colleagues at Viasat, Bartow County Schools, and the staff at Cass Middle School for their bottomless compassion and limitless support. Your efforts made this journey survivable for those of us that remain, giving us the time to breathe and concentrate on what was most important.
A private celebration of Steve's life will be held on June 19, 2026. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Georgia Dog Advocates who supported us with our rescues. In his memory, wear your favorite sports team attire, get outside, hike to a waterfall, enjoy the mountains, or go see the ocean. Live life to the fullest and send a mental message to Steve.
