Sue Jones Green

Sue Jones Green passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, in Marietta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Luann Green; parents, Mr. & Mrs. Ernest E. Jones of Chatsworth, Georgia; sister, Lou Locklear of Marietta, Georgia; and nephew, Bill Locklear of Atlanta, Georgia. She is survived by her son, Mickey Walton Green of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware; niece, Debbie Locklear Buchanan (Ben) of Marietta, Georgia; nephews, Jimmy (Jenny) Locklear of Decatur, Georgia, and Jody Locklear of Port Townsend, Washington; and niece-in-law, Bernie Locklear, and their families.

Sue was born in Chatsworth, Georgia. Her family moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee when she was young. She attended and graduated from Chattanooga High School.

After a 23-year career with Delta Airlines in Atlanta, she retired in 2000 and moved to her beautiful log home, Humble Heart, in the mountains of Blue Ridge, Georgia. She enjoyed activities with her close-knit family, travel, sports, and her volunteer efforts in the community. She devoted many hours to the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, The Craddock Center, Blue Ridge Community Theater, and her church, Cherry Log Christian Church.

A private memorial service will be held at a future date with final internment at Chattanooga Memorial Park Cemetery.
