Theotis Thedford Jr., 69 of Powder Springs, Georgia, was called home to Heaven on December 16, 2025. He was born in Buffalo, New York, on April 12, 1956, to the late, greats, Theotis and Gertrude Thedford Sr. He was preceded in death by his son, Theotis Thedford III, his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Gertrude Thedford Sr., his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Henry & Hattie Baker, and Mr. & Mrs. Thomas and Susie Thedford. His Godparents, Mr. & Mrs. David & Ruth Calhoun, as well as his aunt and uncle, Mr. & Mrs. Velpo & Minnie Johnson.
Otis held many loves and achievements in his life. After graduating from high school in 1973, he was accepted and attended Fredonia State University, later attending Shorter College in Atlanta, Georgia, where he received his Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration in 2011. Otis then chose to further his education and went on to receive his Master's Degree in Business Leadership in 2013. He officially retired in 2020, yet a short time later, he found joy in working with his brother, managing their own business. He was a huge sports fan, watching everything from Basketball to Golf, but his love for Football outranked them all, with the Buffalo Bills and the Atlanta Falcons as his two favorite teams. He also had a love for music that was unprecedented, listening to and introducing those around him to genres of all kinds. He was not a man of many words, but he spoke volumes through the music he played for all those that surrounded him. However, with all that he achieved in his life, with all that was great in his life, his most prized possessions, what he loved and took the most pride in, was his Family.
He leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Cynthia L. Thedford, his daughter, LaKrisha N. Thedford, his youngest son, Aaron R. Thedford; eight grandchildren, Tajai D. Sanders, Elijah D. Thedford, Arianna I. Hutcherson, Tyree A. Thedford, Ariel T. Thedford, Desiree A. Thedford, Kamarah L. Thedford and Aryn A. Brock; one great grandson, Devon “Sir” Sanders, a brother Mr. & Mrs. Douglass & Trudy Thedford and their daughters Maureen and Audrey Thedford, a sister, Lynn M. Thedford-Crumpler and her daughters and granddaughter, Sherrita & Sharada Crumpler and Amelia Daniels. And three grandchildren by LaTonya Bonds, gained in love, Unique, Makayla, and Kendarius Bonds. In addition to his immediate family, Otis leaves behind a host of extended family members and dear friends, far too many to name, all of whom gave their gifts of love, prayers, and support.
