Wallace V. “Mike” Sires was a resident of Sandy Springs, GA, since 1973. He moved to Marietta in 2023, where he passed peacefully on June 5, 2026. He was born in Clinton, OK, on November 2, 1927, and graduated from the Ft. Cobb, Oklahoma school system. He received a BS degree in Marketing from Oklahoma State University in 1950. He served in the US Army from 1950 to 1952 during the Korean War as Staff Sergeant in the office of the Commander in Chief, Far East, Tokyo, Japan.
He retired from U.S.G. Corp in 1988 after 35 years in various management assignments. He leaves behind two sons: William and his wife, Susan, of Blue Ridge, GA. Granddaughters Alysia Dunwoody and husband Matt, and great-granddaughter Mia and great-grandson Wyatt of Tampa, FL. April Jones and great-grandson Kyle of Blairsville, GA. Charles and his wife, Suzanne, Grandson Brian and wife Christie, and great-grandson Leo of Smyrna, GA. Daniel and Nathan of Marietta, GA. And many friends throughout the country.
Mike will be remembered for his integrity, candor, fairness, and an unfailing sense of humor.
A private memorial will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA, for Mike and Marguerite.
