Willie "Bob" Taylor Jr.

Bob Taylor was the son of Mary Tukes Nephew and Willie Bob Taylor, Sr., and had siblings Sharon Nephew Barton (Tyrone), Gwen Taylor, and Harold Nephew. He is survived by his children, Renee Hatcher and Eric Taylor, from his first marriage. From his decades-long marriage with Reavie Taylor, he is survived by four children: Regina Richardson, Robin Jones-Terry, Robert “Keith” Taylor, and Renee “Nicole” Barnes. He is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other beloved family members.

Bob was a professional bowler for many years, a pursuit that reflected his love for competition and skill in the sport. He also had a deep love for roller skating and frequented Atlanta skating rinks for decades—enjoying the music, friendships, and the craft of skating. Bob worked as a professional taxi driver and later as a professional tow truck driver before retiring. These careers marked important chapters in his life. For decades, Bob shared a meaningful relationship with Elaine Broughton, his longtime companion. He was also closely connected to her family and was a familiar presence in their lives. Bob was a loving and active man who carried a sense of style, smoothness, and presence wherever he went. He loved sports, especially the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Hawks, and Atlanta Falcons, and followed football, racing, bowling, basketball, and cars with enthusiasm. He also loved playing cards—especially spades—and watching classic Western movies.

Bob enjoyed music, valued time spent with family, and especially loved home-cooked meals. His favorites included tilapia, peach cobbler, and a cold glass of milk. Willie “Bob” Taylor will be remembered for the life he lived and the memories he leaves behind. He is survived by a host of family members, friends, and loved ones who will continue to honor his memory.
